Social-Emotional Learning Project

State Goal

To support efforts within Minnesota to develop district guidance for implementation and assessment of K–12 social-emotional learning (SEL).

Background

Through this continuing project, MWCC is assisting MDE in its support of efforts within Minnesota to develop district guidance for implementation and assessment of K–12 SEL. Project objectives include developing additional SEL guidance documents for schools and districts, and building on the SEL competencies developed in Year 4.

Activities

MDE will develop SEL guidance documents for schools and districts, including:

  1. Implementation guidance
  2. Staff development guidance
  3. Assessment guidance
  4. A crosswalk of the SEL competencies to current Minnesota Academic Standards
