Every Teacher a Leader in Wisconsin

Project State

Project lead: Catherine Jacques (cjacques@air.org)

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is working to increase teacher voice and leadership. In 2017, the department held its first Every Teacher a Leader Summit. Teachers who participate in Every Teacher a Leader increase their capacity for leadership, leading to improved school climate and higher teacher retention. The Midwest Comprehensive Center, in partnership with the Center on Great Teachers and Leaders, is helping DPI create a structure to support teacher voice beyond the state-level annual summit.

  • Increased teacher retention
